Velo Racers,
Well the 2nd season of G-man Racing at Major Taylor Velodrome has came and pasted. All in all I would have to say it has been a great year. It was not without a few incidents that we could have done without but we got thru them. I would like to thank everyone who helped in anyway. I will not go into nameing names as I would forget someone and hurt their feelings. I hope to thank everyone personally. We have proved if you want to be the fastest on an oval course the Velodrome is the place to go. Plans are already being made to have the Isc back next year for another Insane Speed Run. 5 records were shattered this past weekend. Once again thanks one and all and I look foreward to more improvements next year and more fun at Major Taylor Velodrome.
Thank You,
Gerry

Also talking to Greg, If you could make-up a short simple story of this weekend. We are trying to get to local papers & Extreme RC Magazine to publish it.

The final fun run is over for the 2009 season at Major Taylor Velodrome and the Velo Nationals are just around the corner. (Sept. 11, 12, & 13) For anyone planning on camping at the Velo this year they won't be able to park a camper on the front parking lot as the Arts Fair is ging on at the Art Museum and they will be using the Velo as parking and bussing people back and forth to the Art Museum on Saturday. As to those racing you want to arrive at the track as early as possible on Saturday as good parking space near the velo entrance will be a premium. If for some reason you cannot get a parking place close, pull up by the Velorome gate and unload and then go park your car. If you need indoor pit space Linda is only charging $10 for the luxury of pitting inside the air conditioned comfort. We will try to get a head count on Hobby Talk to see who is running what classes. If you are interested in running in the insane speed run drop me a e mail and let me know. Hope to see everyone at the Velo on Sept. 11, 12, & 13th. Gates open for practice on the 11th at 10 A.M. and the track will be open till 8 P.M. Saturday the gates will be open from 8 A.M. untill 8 P.M. and on Sunday we will open at 8 A.M. Friday is practice with a controlled practice for the Insane cars from 4 to 6 P.M. On Saturday we will have a drivers meeting at 10:30 a.m. followed by timed practice for the Insane Run untill Noon. The first of 4 heats will begin at Noon and at the conclusion of the 4th heat the Insane Speed Run will beging. Sunday morning the last chance qualifier will run at 10:30 followed 1 hour later by the Mains. If you have any questions let me know.

Next Race at the Major Taylor Velodrome is next Sunday, (Aug. 30th). Gates open at 10 A.M. and racing needs to start at 11:30. Needless to say, after I called the race off last Saturday it cleared up and turned out to be a nice evening. We would have not been able to get our racing program in before Linda had to close up the facility. Come out next Sunday and get your last shakedown prior to the Nationals on Sept. 11, 12, &13. Linda is charging $10 for pit space for the Weekend. Linda said she will be fixing Lasanga (at the request of Mr, Zubeck) and be having some homemade pies and other goodies during the Nationals.
Thanks,
Gerry

For those of you who are entertaining the though of entering the Insane Speed Run at the Velodrome Nationals in September, a challenge has been made. The first person to make a official lap of 100 MPH or better will recieve $100 cash. That's right 100 MPH = $100 Cash. The lap must be made under a official timed practice or run and the cash is only available to the first person who goes 100 MPH or better.

Velo Nats Racers & Insane Speed Runners,
If you need hotel accommodations while racing at the Velodrome I suggest the Ramada Limited at West 38th Street & I-465 (Exit #17). The rates are $99 a night plus tax and the rooms are nice and clean. It is about 5 miles from the Velodrome and is one of the closes hotels to the track. The actual address is Ramada Limited, 3851 Shore Drive, Indianapolis, IN. 46254. You can reach them by fax at 317-297-2096 or phone Toll Free Direct at 1-888-291-8405. Their e-mail is ramada_indianapolis@hotmail.com. If you are coming in from out of town and are going to need a table, chairs, or dinning fly please let me know in advance so that I can try to get everything rounded up. Linda at the Velodrome has a limited number of indoor pit spaces that are air conditioned and inside the Velodrome offices. In the past she has charged $20 for the weekend for these. If you are interested let me know and I will get a hold of her and see what is available. We want to do what ever we can to make your trip to the Velo an adventure that you will want to do again.
See ya soon,
Gerry

The 2008 MTV National Race Results and updated Track Records are posted on www.g-manracing.com. I would like to take this time to thank everyone for making the first year of G-Man Racing at the Velodrome a fun year. Although it was a learning process, I hope everyone who came out and supported us had as good a time as I had. I want to take this time to thank the following people for helping me survive the first year, Greg June, Chris Clayton, Brent Doty, Mark Fields, Roy Moore, Jon Perkins, and R.J. Erich II. A special thanks to all the racers from Madison who showed up and raced and helped where needed. I thank all those who I have forgotten to mention, which I know will happen. I also thank the following for sponsoring classes at the Velo, American R/C Outlet.com, Apollo Financial, Joe's Hobby Barn and RJ's Hobby Shop.
